Football Fortunes - Our Survey Says "Kerry".

If there was a question on Family Fortunes that went - "We asked 100 people what county do they associate most with Gaelic Football" The chances are that the top answer in "Our survey says" would be Kerry. The Kingdom. With 36 senior titles they are clearly in the No. 1 spot , 13 ahead of nearest rivals Dublin with 23. To select one or two clips that stand out in all that glory is hard, very hard. Great players, outstanding teams, superb skills. So much to consider but we will try to do it justice.

First up it's a real legend - one of the all time greats in Gaelic games Mick O'Connell. Now 75 years of age, he played senior football for Kerry for an unbelievable 17 years from 1956 to 1973. He was named in the GAA Football Team of the Century as one of an all Kerry midfield (the other being the legendry Jack O'Shea)

The second clip is from Kerry's highest scoring Final. They scored 5-11 and won by 17 points but that's not the only reason it's picked. It was of course the 1978 final in the great era of Kerry v The Dubs. It was a star studded Kerry team and at the top of their game - not to mention that audacious Mikey Sheehy goal against Paddy Cullen. And the first of a 4-in-a-row...

And we can't cover Kerry and not mention the great Mick O'Dwyer who has had such an iconic presence in Gaelic Football for over half a century - with so many counties as well as his native Kerry. And to vary the content away from the pitch action we pick a clip of him in a relaxed and entertaining interview ...
