Played on Sunday 28 Sep 1924 to be exact but it wasn't the 1924 final, it was in fact the end of the 1923 championship. The Civil War had an impact on completing fixtures back around those years, so a delay like that wasn't unusual.

The match itself, between Dublin and Kerry, was played in Croke Park in front of 18,500 - quite a few less than last Sundays 2011 epic but the result was similar as Dublin won on a score of 1-5 to 1-3.
