All Ireland Quarter Final 6 Aug 2011
Dublin had bowed to Tyrone so many times in recent years. But not in 2011 as they turned on the style and the swaggger. It was an outstanding team performance and Dublin and a terrific individual contribution, on the day, from Diarmuid Connolly.

Mayo v Cork 2011 - Upset of the Season
All Ireland Quarter Final 31 July 2011
Cork are reigning champions and Mayo come into this game as complete underdogs and the tag seems justified as Cork get off to a flying start. But James Horan's team hadn't read the script and in a thrilling performance confounded the pundits. Witness the upset of the season.

Donegal v Kildare 2011 - A Resilient Display
All Ireland Quarter Final 30 July 2011
A match that either team could have won.
This game started slow and the first half was a dreary defensive affair. But the second half came alive as the match swung one way and then the other, eventually needing extra time to decide a winner. What began as a forgettable affair ended up as one of the most memorable contests of the championship.

Was This The Most Contoversial Point of 2011?
Dublin win a 'soft' free in the dying seconds of the Leinster Semi-Final and from it score the winning point. It was certainly controversial and maybe it was just as important in the destiny of the 2011 championship as Cluxtons point in the final itself.
Was it a free ? Was the referee wrong to award a 'gimme' in the circumstances ? One thing it was, without question, is harsh on Kildare.
