Derry are reigning Ulster and All-Ireland champions and with stars like Joe Brolly, Anthony Tohill and Henry Downey they are hotly tipped to retain both titles. But Down have other ideas and their own stars such as Mickey Linden, James McCartan, Greg Blaney and Ross Carr. The clash of the big two, with home advantage to Derry in CelticPark, this game turned out to be a classic with Down eventually emerging with the scalp of the All Ireland Champions and going on to win the '94 All Ireland title.
